Retro Gadget Together In Electric Dreams

If any of you were from the 80s, you'll certainly know and heard the catchy "futuristic" song titled "Electric Dreams" whereby a boy (nerd) who's super gadget crazy tweaks and tinkers his computer that eventually becomes his nemesis in its quest to be better than his real life companion.

A Boy.
A Girl.
And A Computer.

Such simple phrase and forgotten in this day and time of tablets, HD TV, touchscreen (those days, touching your screen is certainly a no no- first you get static shock, secondly your screen is an oily mess nobody wants).

Anybody from that era, just like this post! Share it. Comment on it. Since today's the last day of the universe.

iPhone plus iPad equals Padfone Version 2

When you combine two of the most ubiquitous white tech gadgets around, namely the iPhone and iPad, you get a wonderful smart idea in the physical form of a hybrid theory and manifestation - simply deriving both names and combining them into one - the PadFone. Pad and Phone.

And version 2 of the Padfone comes fast within 4 months from the original Asus Padfone release in  June 2012. Asus seriously means serious business in the smartphone arena.

Updating Xperia Ray ST18a to Ice Cream Sandwich

Very simple. If you've been using your phone with lots of apps, try to uninstall them first, backup your data, videos, mp3, contacts, calendar.

Then use Sony's website to get the Sony PC Companion software updated first, then finally connect your phone and wait for the distribution to happen.

Xperia Ray or Xperia U

To hyper-jump into 4 generations of Android from S40 Operating System, is about transporting into human time by 35 years to 42 years (calculated in dog years).

So I have zoomed down to two:
Sony Xperia Ray
Sony Xperia U

The only shortcoming of XperiaU is no microsd slot, it has a dual core system on board. SOC.

So suggestions are welcome. Comments please.

Canon to start making smartphones

Apparently convergence has made the world change faster than we thought possible. Gone are Big Four or Five of accounting firms. Gone too are single function phones. ALL phones smart, dumb, crazy, feature, or non - FEATURES a camera.

If this hasn't eaten into big Canon's turf to think radical, then they certainly could learn a big lesson from the ever-growing and relentless Rainism inspired company - Samsung. Converging everything possible. Electronic or not. Look at the cameras that Samsung produce. Years ago, it was very cute or funny. Years ago, Samsung phones all have different operating system, different chargers. Years ago, Samsung didn't even do mp3 and cameras. Now they do. Now they are doing it better. Years ago HTC was the number Android company. Just 2 years ago, Samsung came and conquered that Android market in totality. So great the extent that the other fruit company with a totally different OS felt so threatened and launched a profit-generating department called the law or suing department to get even and then some.

So here is the biggest news ever: Canon is producing a super smart camera phone. No doubt about it. These are the leaked images.

Big screen, all the wifi b/g/n, UMTS, 3G, 2G, Edge, Canon Camera Engine Digic 5, DLNA, internet pass through, touch screen, WIFI hotspot, and everything Canon's camera were always capable of - producing superb images. Canon's intuitive camera operating system has been there for years, spanning all types of camera from entry level, to G series, to SX series, to DSLR. It's the same system but now with a smartphone capability and app store.

Launch date: to be confirmed but likely by 2013.

Julian Assange Bourne Legacy Escape Plan

Julian Assange is stuck in the Ecuadorian embassy. He can attempt some cool Bourne Legacy style escape plan, if he was an avid Jason Bourne fan, AND the fitness level of Matt Damon.

Here are some suggestions that are taken from Bourne Identity Trilogy:
1. Diversion - create a diversion. How? Well if Angelina Jolie could do it in SALT. So can you. A fire. A flooding? An injury? Well I wished I can quote Swordfish's word-for-word wordplay by John Travolta. And why not - "Misdirection. What the eyes see and the ears hear, the mind believes." The whole movie's premise was a misdirection.

2. Flashmob - perhaps some Occupy people or some other Greenpeace, Freedom, Vendetta, style people could come up with a huge flash mob, to sort of do a diversion (again), and might have a chance to escape within the mob, or under the cover of the mist.

3. Employ Bourne - what better way to get out than getting the guy who could always get out to help you out? Perhaps not fictional Bourne per se, but some capable individual, or team. The Expendables, The A-Team, GI Joe (or COBRA!), even Jason Statham. I mean his characters in the movies. Transporter guy, or the Mechanic.

4. Zombie - create somekind of zombie situation - biological, infection another perhaps variation of misdirection. Or pretend to be a zombie. Well it beats pretending to be crazy "aka pleading for insanity defence" which is a big valid defence in USA. Everybody loves a zombie phenomenon. Look at all those TV series, movies that are crazy. Perhaps start by biting the first US personnel (hopefully high ranking) that he meets.

5. Comedy - get Howard Stern. Ferocious zeal of comedy, frankness, blandness, and rebellion, outrageous wordings, this will be like alpha strike in the binary word. Everyone would be twitting, FBing, or glued to their radio sets like good old Howard time? The humour can work wonders. Make it hit harder to those who cannot change. They will laugh. Or die. They will see US foreign policy is just what they thought they proudly fighting to quell. Subversion? Check. Planting? Check. Protecting Criminal? Check Check Check. And worst protecting previous Presidents that were in everybody and God's book, criminal. What a shame. This whole fake macho War chant "I'm doing my job" it is so lamean excuse, it is certainly not excusable.

6. We Are The World - Human Shield. Human Wave. Red Wave. Green Wave. Yellow Shirt. Whichever you say it - long long pile of humans holding hands, marching right into that embassy. Everybody holding hands. Hold my hands. All talking about peace. Human Shield. No decent army should do any offensive behaviour.

Agree? Funny? Comments? Share it. Well it's not entirely a joke, but to talk about a serious way of helping someone who helped giving out the truth to the world. We just don't want him to be shot cowardly like what the US government in 1967 did to Che Guevara. Shot him. Cold blooded. And the shooter even took his handgun as souvenir. This is worst than "The Assasination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford". The CIA shooter is the world's number one coward.

Pagani Huayra world's most beautiful car

When you gather around with your pals, talking over teh tarik, these topics revolve constantly going in and out of the conversations:
1. PC parts(that's why you're reading this!), e.g. external USB3.0 harddisk, memory, latest tablet, gadget, Samsung S3, Asus Transformer Prime, Padfone
2. Football, Man U, Man City, Barca, Real Madrid, Lionel vs Cristiano, Ronaldo vs Messi, and best goals of the season.
3. (and finally) Car. Audi is so fuel efficient it's better than a hybrid. Considering Avanza, Livina, or Alza. Seems all have ZZZZ? Hybrid toss up, Honda Insight, Toyota Prius and Nissan LEAF. Problems with your Proton. Which eventually lead to politics. Then more cars again, sports car, F1, luxury cars that are selling so well in Malaysia even with the endorsed corruption called AP (Approved Permit) which is quite like James Bond's License TO Kill, but here it is a subtle License To Steal cash from commoner garden variety rakyat that has no ties to powers-to-be to be able to firstly get the permit to get the Approved Permit. (ha.. how come our topic went into politico just as we expected?!) Ok back to Cars.

So these rakyat will discuss about the latest coolest cars. Some even outright buying them. No more old-uncle Mercedes. That's the flavour of 1985. Today people are a step up with Audi A4, Lexus, and people movers with an attitude.

Then there are those who are even so high the food chain (is it possible in Malaysia and is it reasonable to buy cars that go over 200km/h when the speed limit is 110?) there are the Panamera, Porsche, Prancing Horses, Dancing Cows, Hidden Dragon, Ferrari. Lamborghini.

The fastest car in the world aside (ie. the almighty Buggati Veyron) what else is there to buy or talk-teh-tarik-kurang-manis about?

The most beautiful car in the world.
The fastest car in the world. (The Veyron has and can attain the maximum speed only at certain conditions, e.g. a clean long straight road and air quality, plus an initial run-up to hit the threshold)
The most limited car in the world. The original Zonda has around 100 sets in the world.
Handmade to perfection. Exclusive to a micron of the population.
This car isn't just made to sell to some billionaire.

Enjoy some photos of it. The Pagani Huayra.

Maxis Simcity 5 High Five

This is the game that every town-planner, councilor, governor, politician, wakil rakyat, datuk, must play to gain the in-depth knowledge of truly managing a village, city, town, megalopolis.

The simple fact that roads must be maintained at a maximum health rate to prevent degradation of RCI (Residential, Commercial, Industrial) activity is a mantra that alas, many a so-called Datuk have not learnt this basic, fundamental law of modernisation. Or was it embracing ignorance like a fool?

Well enough of foolish Datuks. They will go away one day. But NOT our beloved city that we build with our own mouse clicks. We want our SimCity back and we want it badly. We want to be proud developers, planners, and we want to see our cities rise, prosper (across all races, there is no such thing as "BUMI discount in Simcity" LOL and also COL - literally "cry" cos it is such a shameful system).
